Nitrile hydratase RR is isolated from Rhodococcus rhodochrous. Nitrile hydratase is an enzyme that converts nitrile groups to the corresponding amides by addition of a water molecule. Activity > 1000U/g.
Nitrile hydratase is used by a wide variety of synthetic processes in the chemical, pharmaceutical  industries. For example it is used in the synthesis of nicotinamide from 3-cyano-pyridine.
This nitrile hydratase RR is available in free or immobilised formats. SphereZymes™ is our patented immobilisation technology.
